Sympathy for muslem fundamentalists, but I can't understand why it will be as bad as 42 years of brutal Assad rule. During their murderous hold on Syria tens of thousands of people were killed in many bloody purges, the 1982 Hama massacre was just one of them, but unfortunately not the only one. Now it is said that during the current uprising the death toll has already risen to 44, 000. Those figures are even for those fundamentalists hard to beat, Assad should be removed, and then the world should deal with the successors if there is a need to do so. No reason to leave this butcher alone, and the resulting Syria will be considerable weaker. A win-win situation for the world.
