This is (and was) the synagogue of the REFORM community as so many Jews in Bradford did marry out (To Christians) and they were not accepted by the ortodox Jewish community (that closed down in 2011). I was there on yom Kipur prayers in 1973, as it was closer to where we lived while the ortodox synagogue was some 2 miles from our home and I did not want to travel on Yom Kipur. To my astonishment most of the congregation (over 2-300 hundreds) were originally blonde. To my amuzement!! the children eat a sandwich during the break and there was also some light drinks! At 5 p.m during a break in the prayers the "raby" announced to all the congragation that a war has started in Israel by the attack of Egypt and syria..... ( it was the 3 p.m. in Israel , i.e 1 hour after the war has started in Sinai , so it means that someone has listened to the radio or TV. ) ONLY 40 congregants are left now IN Bradford? NO SUPRISE WHEN YOU EAT ON YOM KIPUR !!
