    he's simply demanding that israel gives a peacful solution to the ME conflict a fair chance. the construction freeze is a minor issue, except in that it would signal a willingness in principle to evacuate most of the settlements. it's not that bibi can't afford a freeze but would eventually be willing to evacuate following direct talks w/the pals. he can't afford the only viable solution involving a major evacuation. if you want to start a war /at least be capable of starting such a thing, you better clean up your diplomatic act first. israel is in the worst diplomatic position anyone can remember at the present. everyone knows iran is vehemently opposed to a negotiated ME peace involving a 2-state solution. now it's gonna be israel who will be seen as opposing it & if they attack iran, again as t-h-e agressor. the way the current israeli government plays it it's giving away all its cards, one by one.
