    which, as I understand it, is that "looking backward" is seldom as productive as "looking forward" (and to add my own observation--might cause a fellow to walk out into oncoming traffic)--HOWEVER (and based solely on what I read), it appears to me that his viewpoint is now shared by a STEADILY DECREASING percentage of the overall Israeli population--and particularly by those who take an active role in charting public policy--and while that "percentage" might conceivably "swing back the other way"--I imagine it will take a lot more than "well-reasoned discourses" to make that happen--because "well-reasoned discourses" do NOT (a) particularly move those who are moved more by "emotion" than by "reason", OR (b) fit onto bumper stickers. (And while some of this is admittedly "flip"--I fear that my conclusions are not.)
