A moral war is one in which your army is sent to protect your people from attack from an aggressive neighbor. This is precisely where Israel stood before entering Gaza two years ago. This is precisely what Israel will have to do again if Hammas starts to sent their rockets into Israel again. And although Haaretz does not publish this, Hammas has started firing their rockets into Israel again. As has taken place in the past - we know how it works. It starts as a small trickle of qassams fired into the Sderot region, Ashkelon and the surrounds. Doesn't make news. Then they slowly increase the tempo, bit by bit. All this time Israel sits back and only targets the quassam launchers directly, if you are lucky to catch them in real time. Before you know it, Sderot is under multiple daily missile barages. Ashkelon is being hit by the larger and more dangreous Grad missiles (thanks to Iran). Israel eventually hits back. Samuel then sends a post about Israel's immoral war.

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
