It follows their Facebook pages, uses fake profiles to 'befriend' them and presents screenshots of posts in court – this is how Israel Police is adding social activists to its virtual surveillance list. 'They know what I write and do,' Ethiopian protest leader says.09:46 06.02.16 | 1 comments
You say that 'virtually every other country' hates Israel. The only feeling of hate Israel arouses is hatred of its treatment of the Palestinians; other than that most view Israel with indifference. Yes, Gideon Levy has a passport (which is more than Palestinians without statehood and under occupation have) and Levy can leave. The wonder is that he stays in Israel. Levy would be welcomed in any western country and find many people agreeing with his opinions in the USA or EU. I assume he stays in Israel because he has a genuine love of his country but wishes it to be a just and democratic place for all people and not just for Jews. Levy will probably stay but how many educated young Israelis will vote with their feet and just pack up and leave?
