I never could understand the fuss about evacuating settlers. If someone wishes to continue to live in areas to be evacuated by the IDF, why not let them? All that is needed is an announcement that from such and such a date, the IDF will vacate the area, and if any settler wishes to give themselves over to the tender mercies of a Palestinian administration, well, let them do so, it's their private business and no one else's. My view is that the only possible reason for the usual fuss being created around evacuating settlers is to score propaganda points in the international media with a "Look everyone, what horrendous sacrafices we are making in the interest of peace!" If this were not so, the fanatics would just be left behind to fend for themselves among the Palestinians. Incidentally, I am all for Jewish settlement in all of Eretz Yisrael, if we can get away with it, just against being half pregnant, if we can't, because the world and the arabs won't let us.
