'I am ashamed that I saw injustice and never did anything about it,' Reinhold Hanning tells German courtroom.01:17 30.04.16 | 1 comments
"At a government meeting, the chief of staff told the ministers: 'I hereby issue a warning that if our requests are not approved, you will bear responsibility.' ". I would have to say in all honesty that if the head of the Australian Armed Forces said that to the cabinet the meeting would stop right then and there, the CoS would be asked to hand over his baton, and he would be told to go home and write his memoirs while they go about the job of choosing his successor. There are lots of yanks in this talkback too, I notice, so a question to all you guys; what would happen if the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs made that exact statement in a crogressional hearing, even one behind closed doors? I think he'd be told he is not fit to wear his uniform, and he'd be out on his ear. Any of you Americans care to argue differently?
