If Hamas succeeds to concentrate control over the arms in Gaza, stop smugglings to Gaza, ends terror from Gaza, releases hostages, held there, than Israel should consider it more reliable than Fatah, which violated all its commitments since Oslo, proved to be inefficient, corrupt, murderous and untrustworthy - in short, not a partner in negotiations, but a gang of thugs and murderers. Its "recognition" of Israel doesn't worth a penny. I also believe, Israel doesn't need Hamas recognition, it can deal with Hamas while not recognizing its legitimacy, just as Hamas would not recognize Israel. History has its own dynamics and in the future, everybody may forget, that there was ever such issue as recognition. Just as France or Egypt don't need anybody's recognition, so Israel doesn't need recognition of Hamas. But, as Levy writes, the both organizations are problematic. I don't think Hamas will be more efficient or credible or less bloody, than Fatah. Thugs are thugs.
