School in Sheikh Jarrah 'could constitute a threat to the facility and its combatants,' state says. NGO: 'The government has found a new excuse to prevent building schools in East Jerusalem.'00:01 11.02.16 | 0 comments
Every Sovereign Nation has a legal right to self defence. Given Israels aggression toward Palestine it would be difficult to see how any UN Member could deny the State of Palestine the right to self defence without bringing its own right to self defence into Question. Look at Japan. It was allowed a maritime self defence force. At the time I was in the Australian Navy we had three freshly built Adams Class Guided Missile Destroyers. State of the Art for their day. Our ones and American ones had 5inch fully automated gun mounts. The Japanese vessels had 3inch guns. Their weapons though were more accurate and more capable than our Five inch because of the technology they built in. Their engine rooms were totally computerized as was most of the ships they had. They needed less men to sail them. Our crew numbered 330. Their crew number was just under half that. Palestine has every right to the same standard of weaponry as the Japanese given Japan was and is a greater threat when you look at thier capabilities than Palestine was then and is now. In my view there is nothing to stop Palestine have S300 batteries for air defence to protect itself from Israeli aircraft. They can state in any agreement it must be a demilitarized State but in actuality under Sovereignty it has every right to defend its borders. Is the World asking it to be defenseless....with Israel on their doorstep?
