I believe every point of yours is correct though I would take it one step further. I would say that the destabilization of the region, including the strengthening of Iran, is just what some Israeli politicians want. Israel, to a degree, has the same lust for war that America does and for the same reasons too: it is very profitable. Besides that, a populace that lives in fear is more easily controlled. It's like every governments dream. A country that is constant fear of attack can demand higher taxes and even take money away from needed areas like education and the environment only to give it to their friends and family in the military industry. As a bonus, they get a nation that can be convinced of almost anything. All of this at a time when our faith in our political and military leaders is near zero adds another level to the equation. We're told we need to be protected by people we can't trust. Talk about mind games.
