'I accept that the comments that Ken Livingstone has made make it more difficult for Londoners of Jewish faith to feel that the Labour Party is a place for them,' says mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan.03:33 02.05.16 | 0 comments
.....because you are right: using irony and sarcasm is problematic. And I really try, most of the time, to steer away from my cynical and humorous tendencies here among the Haaretz-talkbackers. People are very adamant about certain truths, versions and narratives, and this means that the foundation of irony, the consensus around specific facts, world-views and conclusions, simply doesn´t exist. Many talkbackers belong to different camps, period. It´s sad, if you think about it. True, I don´t joke about everything all the time, and it is important to be frank, serious and reasonable. But I believe that a little satire here and there is good for my mental health. Shalom 2 u, Sir Giggles!
