I'm not a particularly observant Jew and I have a ton of bones to pick with the Hasidim in Israel over lots of issues, but what is the big deal about their community living in affordable housing in West Bank towns that are definitely going to be annexed to Israel anyway? The fact is, their population increase won't harm anyone as long as they build up, and not expand the current settlements. Every realistic peace plan on the table envisions a territory swap for existing settlements. Why does it matter how many people are living in the settlements to be annexed? To say it "hurts" the chances for peace is simply ignorant. And I applaud their birthrate, I just want them to have to serve the IDF and contribute more to the economy. In time, I hope they will.
