Hummus is a Middle Eastern food, eaten from the African side of the Strait of Gibraltar to Saudi Arabia and beyond. No single country has a claim to it, any more than a single country could claim the "ownership rights" to bread. Just in case you haven't noticed, Israel is in the Middle East and over half its residents are of Middle Eastern origin. Granted, it you're really a Palestinian, you would like Israel to be elsewhere, but it ain't gonna happen.
