The concept of human shields has no validity when used by Israel. The fact is that no IDF man in the history of Israel has ever paused in attacking a target because there were civilians nearby. In fact, there have been meetings such as the one in which Dan Halutz briefed the government that the IAF would drop a huge bomb on the house of a Gaza militant knowing in advance that dozens of civilians would be killed. This did not bother the Israeli government or the IAF one bit. Considering this, how would Hamas benefuit by using "human shields"? During the 2006 war, the IAF extensively bombed apartment blocks in south Beruit. There were no Hizbollah fighters at that location. Were the hundreds of civilians killed still human shields?
