I am an American who has lived in Europe for more than 30 years. I must have met, and witnessed, thousands of Israeli tourists here. A great many are retired pensioners on pre packaged tours--they are often cheerful and curious about everything; there are the young and sometimes smelly, but invariably endearing backpackers roaming East Europe on the cheap; there are families traveling together complete with wailing babies and fathers demanding his teenagers look up at this and down at that--and throwing up his hands and wondering why he's doing this when they don't-- oh, in other words, they really are just about like everyone else. I promise. Wish I were young and stoned and in Goa. But I lose on all three counts.
