Barak is very smart and doesn't like to err. But when he needs a good propaganda statement, he can behave like the worst of liars. Here is his statement: " "'The ship that is preparing to sail from Lebanon has nothing to do with humanitarianism," Barak said, adding that this activity is intended to aid a terror organization whose goal is to "kill Israeli civilians"." - HAARETZ Let us count some "mistakes". 1. Is the Mariam not on a humanitarian mission" It tries to break the "siege" of Gaza (in place by land, air, and sea) which reduces Gazans to destitution. Strikes me as a very humanitarian goal. 2. Do the passengers want to aid Hamas? They happen to be Christians, Hamas is fundamentalist Islamic. I bet the ship ladies don't care about Hamas; they do care about the destitute Gazans. 3. Is the goal oh Hamas to kill Israeli civilians? I think their goal is to restore their land. One of their means is firing rockets that usually hurt civilians. Mans and goals are not the same. I am glad Haaretz did not give a longer quote of Barak. Every element in the quote so far is wrong on its face.
