How dare you, Ari Hasit, a young man who has not even completed his education, publicly attack a venerable old sage who has spent his life mastering Torah. A bit of unsolicited advice: if you truly want to study Torah go to an orthodox Yeshiva and get an unadulterated version, not to a seminary where they teach at best is a human construct and overlay upon a few selected themes in Torah but reject Torah in its entirety as given by G-d to Moses at Sinai. Your ignorance shows through when you write that "modernity" and "progress" are a contradiction to Torah. Conservatism and even more so reform Judaism are departures from Torah Judaism as practiced for thousands of years. They are recent man made constructs, and so, YES, Rabbi Amar's Judaism IS more authentic than yours. And yes, your "Judaism" "comes" from the same Torah only in the sense that - conservitism and reform - have selected those parts of Torah that fit in with their life style and philosophy, but have rejected those parts of the G-d givenTorah that do not. So Ari, get you to a Yeshivah and learn what Judaism is really all about. Chaim Manaster
