What kind of screwed up legality recognizes the rights of Jewish ownership from the Ottoman government in the nineteenth century over the current people who live in the place? I wouldn't physically give back homes that were taken from people in 1948 however unjustly (maybe some financial compensation for those who were forcibly removed). Those Jews who owned homes and left them in Sheikh Jarrah because of the Arab riots in the 1920s are long gone. We are not talking about people who went to squat in these houses last year. The settlers only care about the laws that help their cause and they only care about democracy when it gives them a voice. Why do we let them twist the laws to serve such sinister ends?
