The separation between state and church is fortunatly part of the constitutions in most modern democracies. However, regarding the Roman Catholic church, celibacy is not a dogma and should be abollshed. The two progressive cardinals who both argued for reforms within the church we the late cardinal Carlo Maria Martini and the Swiss thelogist Hans Kung whose recent interview in the NYT "A Vatican Spring?" (27th Feb, 2013).
