How about having a Chief of Staff who didn't put his personal gain ahead of the nation? Could Yigal Yadin be appointed Chief of Staff by Ehyd Barak? Of course not. Could Yaakov Dori amounted to anything in today's totally political IDF? Of course not. What about Mordechai Maklef? He would never have a chance of being anything in today's IDF. Yitzhak Rabin? Ha, ha, Is there ANYONE, anything, more despised by the men who run Israel today than Yizhak Rabin? The man who the Likud portrayed in SS Uniform? The man who's murder ended forever liberal influence in Israel? The IDF was once, long ago, a citizen army with citizen officers. Now it is a subject army drafted by imperious officers who rule Israel by default.
