The ONLY way for the U.S. to be taken seriously by Israel is the threat of taking away what it's already being given. And considering the illegality of the settlement building, which the U.S. recognizes, the "demand" that Israel freeze it or face consequences should be for an indefinite period - NOT just for short periods of time. This is another big part of the problem that's led to 40 years of NO PROGRESS.
