I guess we are facing the honor/shame framework that has been the basis of Arab and, therefore Palestinian society for quite some time. In effect, according to the article, the only way for the Palestinians to recognize a "Jewish State" is by it's demise. Then they can claim their honor is preserved - we have destroyed the "Jewish State". That being said, I totally agree with Jabareen's opinion that to recognize Israel, no less as a "Jewish State", cannot and will not happen. The only problem with Jabareen is that he does not recognize the inherent stupidity in clinging to the Honor/Shame framework.
