"The problem is of course that it isn`t a discipline army anymore, they were allowed to fall into that state in the occupied territories." - Honest Guy All occupying armies deteriorate. But the IDF appears to be well disciplined. ". . . don`t even bother to mention that after 14 days they have taken casualties 500 meters into Lebanese territory." - HG Hizbollah has never been an easy opponent. their regulars may be few in number but they are highly motivated and well led. "It took 48 hours in the 6 day war to defeat 3 arab armies, . . ." - HG In the Six Day War Israel was fighting for it's life. Olmert's Lebanon War is essentially a war of choice. Citizens of democracies, particularly ones with draftee armies, tend to be pretty sensitive to casualties in wars of choice. I don't blame the IDF from being methodical and trying to avoid casualties. Seems a quite prudent course of action.
