Well written article by Burstyn, that Im sure will get both Left and Right as usual hot and bothered. And why? Too many people are treating the Holy Land like a false god and too many people are idolizing the land itself.Samaria has become a fixation for the golden calf set, instead the home of samaritans. Orthodoxy has shifted its vision from the Lord is one to the Land is one. We have gone so far from the essence of religion and so much into the physical world of location, location, location that you wonder if Real Estate has become the new icon of faith. Do people pray TO the wall or AT the wall? Religion has become so non religious,we have lost the message. Words themselves have become religious. The word 'Peace'has become anti religious and 'Samaria' has become religious. 'Kindness' is a really bad term and sacreligious but the biggest idol of all? It is the fact that religiously people write here disagreeing with virtually EVERY point from the other side of the spectrum. I am awaiting today's traditional rebuking of everything from the 'other' side says, which has become the ritual of rituals.
