"Mashriki's argument that Hamoked and B'Tselem do not defend human rights, but only the rights of Palestinians, is appalling and frightening. In her view, either the Palestinians do not fall under the category of persons entitled to human rights, or they are not human beings." - Segev You are wrong in your implication, Mr. Segev. B'tselem needs not spend its time on recording and defending human rights of Jews. There are many many well-funded organizations that do that, including the State of Israel. B'tselem has seen a void where Arab rights are concerned. It is absolutely legitimate for it to spend its meager human and financial resources on this limited area. Not every organization has to do an "even-handed", politically correct job. In court situations, the Prosecutor just prosecutes, and the Defender defends. Neither does both jobs. Mashriki should realize that; it's in her own field. I would have sent her to some re-education program.
