Sir: The title of this article has assumed a special significance for me as of late; this, aside from the actions taken, right or wrong, by certain elected or appointed officials. In fine: In researching my genealogy over a time span exceeding ten years, information recently acquired suggests my surname derives Sephardi Jewish ancestors from Holland. With eager anticipation, the quest to find those sharing my surname began. Imagine my horror, my grief, my despair; when confronted with the stark tragedy of a Holocaust which held no meaning until now: For it is then and there: Auschwitz and other camps where 156 individuals of whom my surname is shared; 156 people, entire families; Betty Peeper was 10 years of age when her "de-lousing" resulted in her death; a death likely taking place while terrified being taken from her family. Another was born, lived a month or so, and died. Alright, I see I have run out of space, but I'm not done!
