One of the worst responses has been by some Haredi Rabbis that the destruction of Jews in Europe because of talking during prayers. The Jews in Bulgaria were saved by King Boris. Bulgaria had highly intermarried Jews .General Mannerheim in Finnland saved all the Jews and the same happened in Danemark. Neither of these countries had a major observant Jewish population and the Jewish population of all 3 countries w3ere saved. I and the small number of observant survivors did ask questions but we loved and respected our parents and for this we remained religious. I was fortuned in Vienna I knew the saintly Kapycziner Rebbe and when I came to Baltimore I was fortuned to be accepted by Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Hertzberg Z'L and Rebbetzin Hertzberg who me and many others in their home and were the balm on emotional wounds and substituted for parents. May their memory a Melez Yosher for all of us.
