First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me. Do the Ultra-Orthodox feel threatened by Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements? The answer appears to be yes. Why else would they seek every opportunity to prevent people from praying to G-d based on their own principles and convictions? Tolerance needs to be emphasized throughout Israeli society, or the State of Israel will cease to exist, not from its Arab neighbors, but by Jews own hands.
