Every one of the American WW2 Vets who liberated various camps said as they approached the camps, the smell of dead bodies was so over powering that it sickened them. They began to smell it within one mile before reaching the entrance to the camps. For any Nazi to say they "didn't know", "didn't see" "was not aware" is impossible as. the smell of death was terrible and permeated the surrounding towns.
