The Pals want to erase the Jewish heritage in the region and the Jews want to erase the Christian and Muslim and Palestinian history in the region - this is an old game. The site is in occupied land as directed by international law and the United Nations, and in accordance with that law, it has to seek the authority under whose land that site resides in for guidance, Israel is not the legal owner. But this is a part of Jewish heritage, despite the fact that many Jews from Europe may be jews culturally (well even that is debatable as yiddish and other european customs are not semitic) but part of the debate is are they ethnically still jewish and if so, enough to lay claim to historic sites - if so, what does that mean for the world? Can Mexico reclaim land it lost just 150 years ago? Can the native americans? the Sumeritans get their own state, etc. and how much "native american" DO YOU have to be to own a casino? :)
