The Jewish extremists of Israel’s past were quickly welcomed back into society as journalists, political activists and settler leaders. But experts say today’s offenders will not enjoy similar leniency.18:41 11.02.16 | 0 comments
I am sorry to hear of Hilberg's passing. I grew up in the late 60s reading Shirer's book, Uris' Mila 18, etc. and thought Hilberg was the foremost authority on the subject. Still do. Thanks for a good article. One thing, reading Aizenstein's (?) book on armed resistence among Jews in Eastern Europe, which made it seem commonplace, apparently conflicts with Hilberg's view, that most Jews went like lambs. Unfortunately, Hilberg was right, but out of respect you don't want to push that.
