Hezbollah picked the wrong side by so openly supporting Assad, they know they will be driven out of Syria although they are still hoping to keep a foot in the door but what worried them is their power in Lebanon being hurt. Assad has made himself very unpopular in Lebanon especially amongst the palestinians because Assad bombed a refugee camp. There are also hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees in Lebanon who people feel sorry for. Hezbollah needs to get the people in Lebanon focusing on Israel again but they do not want to see Israel victim of Hezbollah aggression especially if it turns into a war where Lebanon is the battle ground. Solution, Hezbollah try provoke Israel into a small scale retaliaton, just enough to send a message to Hezbollah no to do anything stupid by maybe bombing an empty field or doing sonic booms over Beirut. Hezbollah can then start shouting and screaming about Israeli aggression and how Lebanon still needs Hezbollah to be its protector because Israel wants to start another war in Lebanon so provoke Israel, deny you were involved play the victim and anger the Lebanese & hopefully the Syrians hope some of them will switch sides as a result because Assad will stand up to Israeli aggression.
