From my standpoint I think the IDF is in a much better position versus the complacent state it was pre Lebanon2. Relations with European leaders are much better now than pre pM Olmert. Relationships with Arab leaders are no worse, maybe better too. The Winograd commission, tha part I saw in the papers, did not detail the input and part of the US in Leb 2. Irrespective of what some might say, it seems that the absence of detterent @ S. Lebanon pre 2nd Leb war has been replaced by plenty detterent now. Hezbolla got mauled.
