About five or six years ago Israeli began receiving an inordinate number of "undocumented refugees" fleeing from Sudam Darfur, Somalia, etc. Israel complained to the American congress that Egypt was doing a poor job of border security. America immediately cut fifty million dollars from Egypt's allowance and told them to do better. Egypt asked permission from Israel to increase the number of military in the Sinai. Israel refused. Egypt then started the "shoot to kill" policy whenever they saw a suspect heading for the border. Irnoically, this brought some criticism from Israel that Egypt was too violent. Now the new Egyptian government has injected some sanity into the equation. They will send the force necessary into their own territory in order to provide the needed security. The days of asking permission from Israel have ended, as they should end.
