Russia and China are either making or developing ties with Iran / Syria. Even India and Iran are making the news. What about an Islamist regime in Turkey- will they agree to arm nations? France has been quiet but for how long? Syria was able to re-arm hezbollah and I am sure it did not deplete its own stockpile of missiles. Hamas is more heavily armed today than ever and Iran will supply that pipeline o of weapons to their fellow Islamists - remember the Karine A was full of Iranian weapons and that was to arafat. Now Iran has a real partner in Hamas. So Russia ships to Syria and Iran and Iran and Syria ship to their proxies. I agree the US should not be introducing advanced weapon systems to unstable and undemocratic regimes but the US is not the only player in the Middle East. Let the German FM bring it up with his Russian counterpart and see what he says.
