A possible alternative would be for a significant number of his team to quit, in which case he may feel obliged to step down, but I don’t see the current Palestinian leaders dissolving the PA and loosing all the power and gravy which they love. Besides it is easy for the US to prevent any mass Palestinian desertions by simply threatening to expose their. So, in the most likely scenario, the PA will not resign. The only hope left is the Palestinian people. They should take matters in their hands and set up a tent-city, demanding the resignation of their government. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to be made of that kind of metal. They expect others to do the lifting for them.
