Housing costs money. I wonder if the tent city demonstrators make any connection betweeen the lack of affordable housing in Israel proper with the flow of state monies funding the settlements across the Green Line. Can Israel afford to continue tax breaks and financial incentives to the settlers? It also eats into state monies if IDF has to continually police these areas; in other words there is an economic cost to Israel in maintaining its tight control over every aspect of Palestinian life. Apart from that at least their homes aren't rountinely demolished.
