Turkey rightly felt humiliated by the brutal boarding of its ships in international water and the killing of its citizen. To add insult to injury, Israel refused to abide by iits obligations and arrogantly accused turkey of wrong-doings. The West sided with Israel, as always, despite Turkey being a valuable Nato member and a bridge to the East. This fire tragedy and the positive Turkish attitude may contribute to easing the tense relationship. It is uncertain that the close alliance between the two countries would be ever restored. Israel may be willing to offer lip execuse and symbolic blood money. But Turkey and Eerdogan would feel further insulted. For them it is a reminder that life has different prices depending on where you come from. Libya paid 10 Meg $ per head for the Luckerbie after ebing blockaded and aggressed for several years until finaly Ghaddafi capitulated. In India, victims of the US Chemical plant catastrophy got few 100's $ in compensation after years of legal struggle. Shalit has the sympathy of hypocrite world while thousnads of Palestinian prisoners are ignored and no one cares about them. One thing that Turkey should insist on is the rescue of Gaza and its imprisoned population. Turkey must get Israel, Egypt and other s to leave Gaza free and has contact with the world. Turkey must send troops to protect Gaza hel[less refugies and allow them to live like all human beings. Enough of segregation and double standards in the world. The west must one day pay for its past and the true story be told for everyone to know.
