Has anyone noticed how Iran's influence has spread since Bush sent troops into Iraq? This is not coincidence! The US and Saddam had one thing in common. Separately they both provided a check on Iran. To the Iranians, Saddam was enemy #1, while the US was enemy #2. Well, Bush got rid of Saddam for the Iranians, replacing him with a pro-Iranian radical Shiite government. Meanwhile, the US military became bogged down in Iraq thus no longer being able to check Iran. Anyone who knows anything about the Middle East could see this coming. There was a joke being repeated in the international press ? I believe it originated with the Saudis. The question is asked, ?Who won the war in Iraq?? The answer: ?Iran.?
