Arens never admits it explicitly, but his view of the future of a one-state solution (absorbing the West Bank into Israel), is BASED on the Gaza disengagement by Sharon, which is obviously more important than any fake "terrible consequences" Arens ascribes to it. With the Gaza disengagement, Israel got rid of 1.5 million Arab haters. Arens also "shaves" 1 million West Bankers from the rolls, claiming the population there is 1.5 million Arabs instead of 2.5 million. With these two intellectual hocus pocus acts, Arens allows himself to be a humane person, promising the Palestinians Israeli citizenship with full rights. Well at age 86 he will not be asked tough questions about the impossibility to fulfill the promise. But many happy returns, although one cannot expect you to learn new tricks and become intellectually honest at this age.
