Hani, while I respect your perspective of us, Jews, I ask you to reach your conclusions within the proper historic and political context. 1)We do not "need" anyone's recognition, Hani. We know who we have been for nearly 4,000 years as a people, and we know that Israel is our people's expression of national self-determination. By contrast, the Arabs in general, the PLO unlit the middle 1990s, and now the Hamas government have been calling for our annihilation: in spoken and written words, and in deed. We have no reason to deal with those who wish to be our executioners. Would you? 2)The call to wipe us of the map, in various forms, has been pronounced by Muslims since 1948, and the Arab world has already gone to several wars in order to do that. This is reality with which we have been living and which we must face. Wouldn't you? 3)Demography is just one of many attempts to eliminate us. Would you accept being eliminated?
