Hamas is undergoing the same evolution process that other terrorist organizations like the IRA underwent in order to be included in the political process. Strangely enough, a peace deal struck with a hardline group like Hamas is more likely to stick than with one agreed with doves. A peace deal struck by doves is likely to be vetoed by the hardliners. But if the hardliners themselves strike a deal, who is there left to veto it?
