"The political reality and the living conditions in the Palestinian territories since September 2000 have prepared the ground for a Hamas victory, and without offering a genuine alternative, Hamas will not be defeated - and may even to continue succeed." - Danny Rubinstein Hamas has powerful allies which will stop at nothing to do what is best for Hamas. They are George Bush and Ehud Olmert. They don't mean to do what is best for Hamas, they are simply too incompetent to consider the other sides position. They act upon impulse without ever considering what the probable or possible outcomes of their actions might be. There were plenty of people savvy enough to understand that the 'discredit Abbas and torment the Palestinians" program pursued by Olmert and Bush would only strengthen Hamas. Bush and Olmert were obsessed with hurting every Palestinian they could in the hope that Palestinians would turn on Hamas. Instead they are driving them into Hamas's arms. What fools.
