If the IDF is becoming increasingly religious it is because so many of the children of Haaretz readers are not serving at all, and if they are they mostly serve in desk jobs and other safe havens located near their discos and beaches. Today some 40% of draft-age males in the Tel Aviv area do not serve at all. Only a third of those who do enlist serve in combat units. Bottom line is there is a serious problem among the hiloni youth of the so-called liberal elite. And the laws of physics state that any vacuum will be filled. Thank God there are religious boys who are still willing to make sacrifices to protect the brats whose uniform is Dolce and Gabbana. Instead of criticizing them, Haaretz should be saying Thank You.
