How in the world does the last sentence of this article pass the Edward R. Murrow test of truthful journalism? "What is more, some people in Israel challenge the official version the public is receiving regarding the need for the renovation plan, arousing suspicion as to the motives of those behind it." That is an attribution: "Some people challenge..."? "Some" people? Is there a substantial claim of falsehood? What "suspicion"? Does Haaretz have any understanding at all what constitutes credible journalism? This subverts any claim Haaretz makes to be a guarantor of "freedom" in Israeli democracy.
