Yes, Michael Oren's role is criminal. But please note how Ha'aretz reduces the student protests against him two years ago to "shouting anti-Israel slogans." That isn't at all what those students did. While I don't approve of the heckling tactic they used, their criticisms (never specified in the article) were quite justified according to any realistic rendering of the facts. The Orens of the world will have a free ride until we demand that journalists stop collaborating with them by mindlessly accepting their narrative: first, by ignoring the context of protest (the brutality and warmongering for which Oren is a willing mouthpiece); second, by denying the critics the very minimum they deserve -- namely, an accurate rendering of their words. Until then, we should focus protests on the newspapers as well as on Israeli propagandists.
