Nearly every delegate at the Tel Aviv conference is happy to declare their belief in the two-state solution, and to explain why it's not yet possible.18:45 11.02.16 | 0 comments
It's hard to believe that Morsi would sack the Western backed military without the approval of the USA - after all, we give them $2.5 billion in aid AND keep their military stocked with parts for their US fleet of hardware. Was Obama's reasoning to go along with this the the fact that the US military is under the command of the President and that a free and democratic Egypt should be modeled after the USA system? It's hard to believe he is so naive, but given his total screw-up with not supporting the 2009 Iranian revolution, throwing Mubarak under the bus, sitting on his hands regarding Syria, and not pressing Turkey on certain well known issues - I'd bet his ideologically driven advisers are responsible. This is going to be a mess for the millions of Christians and other minorities in Egypt and we can expect more negative outcomes of Obama's foreign policy.
