the israelis who keep whining about the eu contats with hamas are just being infantile. they resemble a person facing a dangerous tiger who covers his eyes believing that is he just ignores the tiger it will disappear. israel, under th glorious and intelligent leadership of itzhak shamir was responsible for the creation of hams and the behavior of the israeli military and settlers have ensured that hamas would have an unlimited number of volunteers. now hamas is a dangerous tiger, it's there, and israel's continous behavior in the occupied territories is ensuring that it will probably end up replacing the PA, it's really not going away. the eu has done the absolute right thing. israel should realize that if you can't kill the tiger you coexist with him. the way to coexsist with the tiger is to stay out of his territory, beause you have no need to be there, having territory of your own. you negotiate with your enemies, not your friends. today's terrorist is tomorrow's statesman- just ask mr. shamir.
