    beyond film and the bbc and even Ha'aretz, he writes about jewishness, but more importantly, humanity, his books welcomes all who read them into the real world of Israel, of the daily complexities, pains, joys and sorrows of any country, people, and family, he humanizes the Israeli and human experience. For this he won an award and it was well deserved. He's done more for Israel than most of these half-baked politicians Israel is recently producing (i.e. Netayahu)
